Thank you for your interest in working at Mt. Rainier. Guest Services, Inc. operates the hotels, restaurants, and retail outlets in Mt. Rainier National Park. Employment at Mt. Rainier is an excellent opportunity to work in an area of pristine mountain meadows, streams, canyons, lakes, rivers, old-growth forests, and glaciers. This is a wilderness location over 2 hours away from any city. It is important that the people we hire are "outdoor" people as hiking and camping are the main off-time activities available.

Applicants must have a clean cut appearance and a people-oriented attitude. Housing is dorm-style with shared rooms and bathrooms. Room and board is a direct payroll deduction amounting to $77 per week. Meals are taken in employee dining rooms and dorm rooms are located an easy walk from operations. Employee Recreational Vehicle sites are located outside the park with a shuttle service to and from work sites.

SMOKING POLICY:
It is the policy of the National Park Service and Mt. Rainier Guest Services to provide a smoke-free environment for its employees and members of the visiting public. To accomplish this, smoking is prohibited:

  • in the interior space of all buildings;
  • within 25 feet of any egress, where smoking would result in smoke traveling through doorways, windows, air ducts or other openings;
  • all decks and porches.

Employees must also agree to appropriate disposal of discarded tobacco materials (cigarette butts, packaging, etc.)
